Diploma - Mechanical Engineering

Vision

To shape the future of the mechanical engineering industry by providing a top-tier diploma education that fosters innovation, sustainability, and professional excellence. Our vision is to produce graduates who are adept at advancing mechanical engineering practices, with a focus on manufacturing processes, system maintenance, and material optimization.

Mission

To offer a comprehensive mechanical engineering diploma program that equips students with the skills and knowledge to analyze, maintain, and innovate in the mechanical engineering field. We focus on hands-on learning, real-world applications, and the integration of latest developments to prepare students for successful technical careers.

Head of the Department's Message

It is my great pleasure to be a part of S.P.B Patel Engineering College, a place where every student, faculty and staff members matters and each one has an important role to play for the development of the Institute.

Mechanical Engineering is one of the broadest and oldest branches of engineering. It is involved with the design, analysis, testing, manufacturing, control, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems – wherever, the systems have a moving part. The department is provided with sufficient resources, competent, well qualified and experienced faculties. The labs at the department are well equipped and have standard software tools.

With the vision that every student will be a future efficient engineer, the Institute arranges a variety of activities and programmes like expert lectures, Industrial visits, involvements in Industrial fares, cultural and sports programme etc. to sharpen the skills and to develop abilities while stretching the student's potential to excel.

We very much focus on total personality development of the students by imparting technical competence, analytical ability, presentation/communication skill, planning & time management, team work, managerial & leadership qualities to make them employable and confident engineer.

I express my sincere gratitude to the students for their bright future.

Why should one pursue Mechanical Engineering?

Mechanical engineering is the innovative application of science and technology to the design, production and operation of mechanical devices, machinery and systems.

Mechanical engineering is by far the most broad-based branch of engineering. Mechanical engineers today are concerned with the design, development and manufacture of a variety of energy conversion and machine systems. Those systems include aerospace, automotive, marine, manufacturing, biomechanics, power generation, heating ventilation, air conditioning and robotics. They also work in emerging industries such as nanotechnology and particle technology.

One might refer to a qualified mechanical engineer as a jack-of-all-trades, and those in the engineering sector often do. Mechanical engineers have a working knowledge of computer applications, electricity, structures, mathematics, and physics, plus they’re required to have some understanding of social, environmental, and economic factors.

Mechanical engineers work in the widest range of industries, more so than any other kind of engineer. They work in the aircraft and aerospace industries, the automotive industry, as well as in the fields of marine systems, heating ventilation and air conditioning, robotics, biomechanics, power generation and general manufacturing. New emerging industries such as nanotechnology and particle technology are major employers of mechanical engineers.

Talking about Government sector, well known recruiters include- BHEL, ONGC, PWD, Indian Railways, Indian Armed Forces, SAIL, Municipal Corporations, State Road Transportation Boards, Metro Rail Corporations, HSCL, RINL, HAL, GAIL, Coal India Limited etc.

When it comes to Private sector, some of the well known recruiters include- Automobile Companies (TATA, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra etc), L&T, JBM Auto, TATA Steel, Reliance group, Kirloskar etc.

With the Government of India making a push for ‘Make in India’ campaign, a lot of foreign investment is pouring into the manufacturing sector in India. According to a government report, India’s manufacturing industry has the potential to reach 65 lakh crore rupees by 2025. And who gets the maximum job benefits? Mechanical Engineers!
